Fun Fall CBD Recipes for You and Your Dog

For so many of us, fall is the best time of year.  We get to wear our comfiest sweaters, admire the changing leaves, and embrace our inner bakers by making warm and tasty treats in the kitchen.  This year, as you get ready to prepare some of your favorite fall baked goods, consider making some special autumn-themed treats for your dog as well.  All of these recipes contain either D Oh Gee CBD Oil Drops for dogs or Sky Wellness CBD Oil, for humans.

Fall Recipes for Your Beloved Canine

There are lots of fall-oriented flavors that canines not only love but can benefit them, too.  These delicious CBD dog treats won’t just excite your pup’s senses, but they will offer essential phytonutrients to their bodies as well. Adding CBD to your dogs' treats provides fast-acting calming support and promotes joint mobility. Not only that, but making your own CBD treats for your dog can be therapeutic for the both of you.

Determining the Right Amount of Dog CBD Oil to Put in Your Recipes

CBD oil made for dogs comes in all kinds of milligram strengths, and each dog requires a different amount of cannabidiol based on their weight.  Use the serving size guide that comes with your dog-friendly CBD oil to determine the proper daily amount according to the number of drops.  Then, multiply that amount by the number of servings in each recipe to determine how much CBD oil total to put into your dough.

Oat and Apple Rings (Makes 30)

Apples are a staple of our fall diet, and many of us go apple picking with our families each year, only to end up with more apples than we’ll actually finish eating.  This oat and apple CBD dog treat recipe is a great way to use up the excess!

  • 2 cups of flour
  • ¾ cups of rolled oats
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • CBD oil for dogs

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  3. Whisk together until the dough just comes together.
  4. Roll out the dough into a long tube that’s about ¾ inches in diameter.
  5. Cut every 5 inches and bring the two ends of each portion together to make a ring.
  6. Grease a baking sheet and place the ring treats onto the sheet.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes.

  5. Use your favorite 2-inch dog biscuit cookie cutter to make each individual biscuit.
  6. Place each biscuit onto the baking sheet.

Sweet Potato Treats (Makes 25)

Yet another festive fall flavor is sweet potato, which happens to be very rich in Vitamin C and other nutrients that keep your dog healthy. It helps that dogs usually love the taste of sweet potato too, making these CBD dog treats a sure hit.

Fall Recipes for You and Your Family

Now that our all of our dogs’ fall cravings are taken care of, let’s get into some autumnal recipes that you and your family can enjoy.  The CBD oil we use in the recipe has a 1000 milligram strength, which makes it very easy to dose properly and evenly.

Pumpkin Loaf

Pumpkin is a flavor that’s everywhere during the fall, and you can’t escape it, but why would you want to? This pumpkin loaf is a deeply gratifying way to savor its rich flavor, offering up a warm, filling treat that can be enjoyed as much at breakfast time as it can be for dessert after dinner.

  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
  • 3 droppers CBD oil (or to your preference*)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 15-ounce can pureed pumpkin

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Grease the inside of your loaf pan.
  3. Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and spices in a medium mixing bowl.
  4. Whisk together.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the butter, CBD oil, sugar, eggs, and pumpkin.
  6. Slowly shake out the dry ingredients into the bowl containing the wet ingredients, whisking along the way until the batter finally forms.
  7. Pour the batter carefully into your loaf pan.
  8. Bake for an hour and 10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the loaf comes out clean.

Homemade Applesauce

Applesauce is one of the easiest and most satisfying things you can do with an abundance of apples that are in season this time of year.  It makes for a nutritious snack and can be used as a side that can be served with potato latkes, pork chops, and more.

  • 6 pounds apples, peeled and cored, and roughly sliced
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 droppers CBD oil (or to your preference*)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • ½ cups dark brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  1. Place all of the ingredients into a large pot.
  2. Cook uncovered over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent the apples or the sugar from burning, for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the mixture from the heat and pour it into a food processor.
  4. Puree until smooth. If needed, split the apple sauce into portions before processing so as not to overflow the food processor.

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Many of us carve pumpkins each Halloween as part of our holiday traditions, and we all know that those pumpkins produce a whole lot of seeds.  Roasting the seeds offers a nutritious and festive snack that can be enjoyed on its own or combined with dried seasonal fruits and nuts to create a festive snack mix.

  • 1 cup pumpkin seeds, removed from a pumpkin or store-bought, raw
  • 1 dropper CBD oil (or to your preference*)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp paprika
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder

  1. First, if you’re using pumpkin seeds removed from a pumpkin, you’ll want to wash them to remove any remaining pumpkin flesh. Simply run them under water in a sieve and allow them to dry on a paper towel.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Meanwhile, combine all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and use your hands or a spoon to ensure that each pumpkin seed is coated in the CBD oil, salt, and spices.
  4. Grease a baking sheet lightly with olive oil.
  5. Bake for about 12 minutes.
